Exhibition: Tiberiu Cercel. Stylistic Interferences

The "Dimitrie Gusti" National Village Museum hosts the exhibition dedicated to visual artist, essayist, and poet Tiberiu Cercel. The 58 works on display reflect the stylistic diversity and artistic journey of the author, who has been active in Romania, France, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Boovie Festival

The international book-trailer festival, now in its 11th edition, brings over 40 events dedicated to reading, film, and education to Bucharest: workshops, conferences, screenings, and meetings with writers, actors, and directors. Some activities are also open to the general public, subject to availability.

DisCOVER TOSCA

The Micul Paris Museum hosts a concept show for those who want to discover opera in an accessible way. Well-known arias from Tosca are woven together with explanations about the historical context, the philosophy of the story, and themes such as freedom, power, and the early stirrings of female emancipation. At the end, the audience is invited to join the artists for a glass of wine.

Works in Focus: Temptation

The talk by art historian Mălina Conțu takes as its starting point the work Penelope and Two Suitors, painted by an anonymous Flemish artist in the 17th century, and explores the theme of temptation in the history of art, from medieval representations to modern interpretations.

Open Doors at Bucharest City Hall

The guided tours of the "Open Doors" project invite the public to discover the history, architecture, and stories of one of Bucharest's most beautiful historic buildings.

WORKSHOPS & ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN

MARe de Mic Summer School

The programme for children aged 5 to 12 combines creative workshops, art history, and interactive activities. Each week introduces a new theme, and participants work on artistic projects developed over several days, complemented by games and discussions about art.

Abstract Painting with the Paint Scraping Technique

Children are invited to discover abstract painting in a workshop inspired by the works of contemporary artist Bernard Frize. After a short visit to the exhibition, participants will experiment with the paint scraping technique and create chromatic compositions using squeegees and spatulas.

Creative Workshops with Gabriela Mateescu

On Saturday, children will transform a simple sheet of paper into a card with pop-up elements, using folding, cutting, and gluing techniques. On Sunday, they will create original images using the collage technique, combining paper fragments, magazines, colours, shapes, and textures.

The Painters' Garden

The workshop starts from the garden of the Zambaccian Museum and from the paintings of gardens and landscapes in the collection. Children observe how artists construct space and light, then choose a fragment from a painting and continue it through collage, drawing, or painting.
