June continues with new exhibitions, guided tours, concerts, stories about heritage, and plenty of reasons to spend time in museums and around the city. This weekend you can discover one of the largest exhibitions ever organized at MNAR, explore the new Museum of Architecture in România, rediscover Carol Park on the occasion of its 120th anniversary, or join the friends at Aici a stat for an architectural treasure hunt around the Foișorul de Foc. And if you're heading out with family, you'll also find plenty of workshops, shows, and activities for children. We've gathered some of our recommendations for the days ahead below.
Discover Bucharest museum by museum, at your own pace.
"The Museum of Museums"
Over 100 exceptional pieces from the heritage of 20 museums across Romania are brought together in a single exhibition, on a journey spanning over 5,000 years of history — from prehistoric artifacts and ancient statues to masterpieces by Rubens, Grigorescu, and Cézanne.
Launch of MuzA – the Museum of Architecture in Romania
A new cultural project dedicated to architecture opens its doors in the heart of Bucharest. The program includes exhibitions, guided tours, public dialogues, and interventions that invite the public to imagine the city of the future.
"Recovering the Past. 3 Prehistoric Gold Bracelets"
Three gold bracelets, recovered after more than five years of international investigations, are presented to the public for the first time. Their story speaks as much about heritage and cultural trafficking as it does about the civilizations that created them over 3,000 years ago.
"100 Romanian Traditions" Fair
The courtyard of the Peasant Museum becomes a place for strolling, discoveries, and seasonal stories, featuring craftspeople, traditional blouses, ceramics, handcrafted objects, live demonstrations, and food cooked on the spot.
"Objects from the Correctional Heritage"
A necessary exhibition that starts from seemingly ordinary household objects to address domestic violence, abuse, and real stories of survival.
La Grande Bellezza
An evening of music in one of the most enchanting venues in the Old Town. Soprano Alexandra Știrban and guitarist Maxim Belciug bring to life works by Händel, Mozart, Bellini, and Puccini, and after the concert the audience is invited to stay for a glass of wine.
120 Years of Carol I Park
Guided tours, exhibitions, and dialogues about Bucharest's identity mark the anniversary of one of the most important spaces of urban memory. An opportunity to rediscover Carol I Park not just as a green space, but as a living part of the city's history. Project organized by ARCUB.
Guided Tour with Lia and Dan Perjovschi – "DRAFT for a Joint Retrospective"
A rare opportunity to explore an exhibition alongside the artists who built it. The tours offer a behind-the-scenes look at the artistic process, personal archives, and the way connections between works and ideas are constructed.
Guided Tour of the Decorative Arts Salon
Ceramics, contemporary jewelry, tapestry, and museum heritage brought together in a route guided by one of the exhibition's curators. Recommended for those who want to discover the stories behind the objects and the relationship between generations of artists.
