For those who haven't left for their summer holiday yet, Bucharest is still full of reasons to get out and explore: markets, new exhibitions, exhibition openings, chamber music, urban art, immersive experiences, and workshops for children. Below are a few of our recommendations.

The Saint Elijah Fair

The National Museum of the Romanian Peasant brings together craftspeople, artisans, antique dealers, and artists from across the country. Visitors will find ceramics, painted furniture, icons, traditional blouses and folk costumes, rugs, jewellery, toys, wooden and leather objects, as well as traditional food products.

USA – Romania. History, Diplomacy and the Road to Democracy

The National Museum of Romanian History exhibition presents the histories connecting the USA and Romania, from the first accounts of the "New World" and the beginnings of diplomatic and commercial relations to the conclusion of the Strategic Partnership between the two states.

Van Gogh Nights at MINA Museum

Van Gogh: The Immersive Show returns every weekend in July, in the last two time slots of the immersive space. The experience can be enjoyed alongside shows dedicated to Monet or Kandinsky.

Offside. Plans, Goals and Points

The international group exhibition is the second chapter of the curatorial programme "Tensiuni în ritm / Rhythmic Stress" and brings together works by Romanian and international artists.

Parallel Dimensions at Mogoșoaia Palace

The group exhibition brings together faculty members and graduates of the 2022 cohort of the master's programme "Visual Education through the Study of Landscape and Figure" at the Faculty of Arts of "Ovidius" University in Constanța. Works of painting, engraving, ceramics, mixed media, and installation are presented.

Full Stop on the Run

The painting exhibition by artist Marilena Zahiu proposes a symbolic journey through phases and states of consciousness and form. The exhibition is curated and presented by Mimi Necula, journalist and art historian.

Open Street Art Workshops

The terrace of the National Museum of Contemporary Art becomes a space dedicated to urban creation. The event includes an experimental calligraphy workshop and an introductory mural art workshop, live artistic interventions on the terrace furniture, and a DJ set by DJ Dora.

Guided Tour: Dâmbovița + Cotroceni

Alongside urban storyteller Cristi Radu, participants will discover the old course of the Dâmbovița river, bridges, mills, historic gardens, and streets laid out along the former riverbed. The route includes stops at UNEFS, the University Hospital, Casa Radio, the University of Medicine, Cotroceni Square, and the Romanian Opera.

#ADMUSICAM Chamber Music Concert

The second chamber music concert by the young musicians participating in the 9th edition of the #ADMUSICAM programme brings a new repertoire performed by instrumentalists at the start of their careers.

WORKSHOPS & ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN

Archaeologist for a Day

Children are invited to uncover the secrets of the past at the Glina–Bălăceanca archaeological site. Participants will take part in a simulated archaeological dig, record their discoveries in a journal, and learn how found objects are registered and interpreted.

Stories from Bucharest in Comics

Led by comics author Mihai I. Grăjdeanu, the workshop invites children to discover the history of Bucharest through drawing and storytelling. Participants will create characters and comics inspired by the heritage of the Bucharest Municipality Museum.

The Summer Cabinet of Curiosities

Children explore the garden of the Theodor Pallady Museum, searching for natural shapes, textures, and patterns, and drawing connections between objects found in nature and the museum's decorative art pieces. At the end, they create their own "cabinet" page through drawing, collage, and painting.
